Lake Lure Photography: Nicole Ponton Portraits
There are so many things I love about Lake Lure in the late summer: the weather, the temperatures, the way the light filters through the trees, and especially the wildflowers.
So naturally, when my best friend Nicole came to visit, it was time for a portrait session!
The fun thing about romping through the countryside with cameras in Lake Lure and Chimney Rock with Nicole is that it’s kind of life coming full circle: Nicole actually used to second shoot for me back when I was primarily doing wedding photography!
My cabin is in Riverbend in Lake Lure, which has got to be about the most scenic neighborhood to have ever existed. The Broad River winds its way through the community, and there are two small lakes and a waterfall. It’s basically heaven. We spent most of this summer floating around in pink and brown donut floats or tubing down the river.
We moseyed around for a bit before heading to downtown Chimney Rock, which has some epic views of the Broad River. The leaves are now starting to change, so I have to imagine it’s only going to get better! The sound of the water rushing by is incredible. Make a point to stop at one of the riverside restaurants or the Hickory Nut Gorge Brewery and soak up the scenery next time you pass through!
Are you planning a trip up to the Asheville area for leaf season? Hit me up! Let’s do a family portrait, a couple’s session, or personal branding photos.
As a reminder, I’m dividing time between Charleston and Lake Lure these days, and I’d love to plan something special during your vacation.
